Job Description

Our client runs a dine-in restaurant serving afro-fusion cuisine. They are hiring a Line Cook to own a station, deliver consistent plates, and help raise the kitchen's standards during a busy service.

What you will do

  • Prep and cook dishes on your assigned station to recipe and spec.

  • Plate food to presentation standards throughout service.

  • Keep your station clean, stocked, and ready before, during, and after each shift.

  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP rules at all times.

  • Taste and adjust seasoning to hold flavor consistent across every plate.

  • Work with the sous chef to refine afro-fusion recipes and test new dishes.

  • Track ingredient usage and flag low stock to reduce waste.

  • Support other stations during peak service.

What we are looking for

  • 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience as a line cook in a busy dine-in restaurant.

  • Strong skill with Nigerian and West African ingredients

  • Working knowledge of continental techniques: sauté, grill, sauces, and plating.

  • Sharp knife skills and steady speed under pressure.

  • Food handler certification, or willingness to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

  • Clean kitchen habits and respect for mise en place.

  • Reliable timekeeping and steady output during peak hours.

  • Open to feedback and ready to learn new techniques.

Bonus points

  • Past experience in a restaurant doing afro-fusion or modern African plating.

  • Familiarity with kitchen display systems (KDS) or POS tools like Toast, Square, or similar.

Benefits

  • Competitive monthly salary based on experience.

  • Free staff meals on every shift.

  • Paid leave and rotational public holidays off.

  • Skills training and a clear path to senior cook or sous chef roles.

  • Six-day work week with one rotating off day.
