Job Summary
- The Office Dispatch Rider is responsible for the timely and secure delivery and collection of documents, parcels, and other official items on behalf of the company.
- The role also involves maintaining the assigned motorcycle in good condition, adhering to traffic regulations, and ensuring that all dispatch activities are carried out efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and collect official documents, letters, packages, and other items to and from clients, vendors, government agencies, and other designated locations.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all assigned dispatch items.
- Obtain signatures, receipts, or proof of delivery where required and submit the same to the appropriate office personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of documents and items in transit.
- Carry out banking errands, utility bill payments, and other official assignments as directed.
- Maintain the assigned motorcycle in good working condition and report any faults or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Conduct routine checks on the motorcycle, including fuel level, tyres, brakes, engine oil, and general roadworthiness.
- Comply strictly with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Keep accurate records of dispatch activities, routes taken, mileage, and fuel usage.
- Assist with other administrative errands and duties as may be assigned by Management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent.
- Possession of a valid Rider's Permit
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Dispatch Rider in a reputable organization.
- Good knowledge of Lagos road network, particularly Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lekki, Ikeja, and other major business districts.
- Ability to read and write effectively in English.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be physically fit and able to work under minimal supervision.
- Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and punctuality.
