Job Summary




  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Account Officer to join our team in Agbara.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the company's financial operations, including financial reporting, inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, tax compliance, and general accounting activities.



Key Responsibilities




  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts.

  • Perform bank, ledger, and account reconciliations.

  • Manage inventory accounting and conduct regular stock reconciliations.

  • Process invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other regulatory obligations.

  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable activities.

  • Support audit processes and provide required financial documentation.

  • Maintain proper accounting controls and ensure accuracy of financial data.



Requirements




  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

  • Must be actively pursuing ICAN professional examinations (ICAN in View).



Experience:




  • 1–3 years of active accounting experience.

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, retail, trading, or FMCG company is mandatory.

  • Experience in inventory accounting and stock reconciliation is highly desirable.



Skills & Competencies:




  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Knowledge of tax management, budgeting, and financial analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet management.

  • Experience using accounting software or ERP systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.



Preferred Candidate:




  • ICAN Professional Student (In View).

  • Experience in inventory-driven business environments.

  • Familiarity with stock management and cost control processes.
