Hydraulic Design & Technical Review:

  • Review and interpret hydraulic design drawings, drainage master plans, and hydrological reports.

  • Validate design assumptions including catchment analysis, runoff coefficients, and hydraulic grade lines.

  • Provide technical input on drainage alignment, pipe sizing, culvert design, and channel geometry.

  • Identify design deficiencies and recommend corrections before and during construction.

  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant Nigerian engineering standards and client specifications.

Construction Supervision & Execution:

  • Supervise all drainage and hydraulic construction activities on site to ensure quality and conformance.

  • Manage the execution of storm drains, open channels, box culverts, retention/detention facilities, and outfall structures.

  • Ensure construction sequences minimise disruption to existing drainage systems and road operations.

  • Monitor workmanship quality and enforce zero-tolerance for substandard construction.

Project Planning & Programme Management:

  • Develop detailed construction programmes for all drainage works components.

  • Coordinate mobilisation of equipment, materials, and skilled personnel to the site in line with the approved programme.

  • Identify programme deviations early and issue recovery instructions to site teams.

  • Manage scope changes accordingly, bearing in mind that no variation is implemented without documented approval.

  • Conduct structured progress reviews at key milestones and resolve emerging issues promptly.

HSE & Environmental Compliance:

  • Enforce HSE standards on all drainage construction sites, ensuring zero LTI performance.

  • Manage environmental risks associated with drainage works, including erosion control, sedimentation, and water quality.

  • Comply with all applicable Nigerian environmental and construction safety regulations.

Budget Control & Cost Management:

  • Monitor project costs against approved budgets; identify overruns early and implement corrective measures.

  • Coordinate with the Quantity Surveyor on valuations, measurement of drainage works, and final accounts.

  • Provide regular cost forecasts to the Head of Engineering and construction as well as flag any material budget variation immediately.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Submit structured weekly and monthly technical progress reports to GMD through the Technical Director.

  • Maintain a complete and auditable document register of all engineering drawings, approvals, test results, and correspondence.

  • Prepare as-built drawings and handover documentation at project completion.

Stakeholder & Contract Management:

  • Serve as Jamub Group's primary technical representative to clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies on drainage projects.

  • Build and sustain productive working relationships with clients, government agencies, and subcontractors.

  • Attend client meetings and present technical updates on drainage construction progress.

  • Liaise with road engineers, structural engineers, and utility agencies to coordinate multi-disciplinary site activities.
