Job Description




  • The Finance Manager is responsible for preparing financial statements and reports for the Bank to determine its financial performance.



Key Responsibilities




  • Prepare financial statements for the Bank (daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annually).

  • Produce daily management accounts for the Bank.

  • Operate and ensure accuracy and completeness of all entries into the financial statement software).

  • Prepare daily financial dashboard for management.

  • Prepare industry comparative reports of financial position and variance explanations.

  • Prepare segment-based deposit report.

  • Prepare Bank reconciliation schedules.

  • Carry out analytical review of financial reports (including ratios for liquidity, capital adequacy, earnings and stability).

  • Undertake month-end financial reporting activities including accruals, prepayment amortization, and fixed assets depreciation.

  • Update and maintain Fixed Asset Register.

  • Participate in the implementation of audit work plans and liaise with external auditors in providing audit requirement for year end audit.

  • Review and analyze cost, expenses and budget control.

  • General ledger review and maintenance.

  • Review and evaluate the accounting treatment of transactions by business units for purpose of advising on best practices.



Requirements




  • Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in business, accounting, finance, economics or a related area of study.

  • A Post Graduate Degree is an added advantage.

  • Professional certification including but not limited to the following: ACA, ACCA, CIBN, CFA etc are mandatory.

  • Proven years of experience in financial management function.

  • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.

  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office and databases.

  • Great communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent report writing, analysis and data reporting skills.

  • Great analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Unquestioned personal integrity with strong ethics and values consistent with the Company’s culture.

  • Capable of working independently and with minimum supervision.
