Job Summary




  • Procurement Officer (also called Purchasing Officer) manages the acquisition of goods, services, and materials for an organization.

  • The role focuses on cost efficiency, quality, compliance, supplier relationships, and supply chain reliability.



Job Responsibilities




  • Source for reliable suppliers and vendors for company materials and services

  • Request and compare quotations from different suppliers

  • Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions

  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure proper approval procedures

  • Monitor stock levels and initiate timely purchases

  • Ensure materials purchased meet company specifications and quality standards

  • Track deliveries and follow up on delayed supplies

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation

  • Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers

  • Conduct market research to identify better products and pricing opportunities

  • Coordinate with store, accounts, and other departments regarding purchases

  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality

  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement issues

  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures

  • Prepare procurement reports for management review
