We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Accountant to join our pharmaceutical company. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in financial management, cost control, statutory compliance, and strategic financial planning, with the ability to provide sound financial leadership and support business objectives.



Key Responsibilities




  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Drive debt recovery and effectively manage accounts receivable while improving collection processes.

  • Manage the general ledger, cash flow, bank reconciliations, and treasury operations.

  • Oversee inventory accounting, landed cost analysis, and stock reconciliations.

  • Monitor and optimize working capital to support business operations.

  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

  • Ensure full compliance with VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, pension, and other statutory obligations.

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring effective credit control and timely payments.

  • Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, and management reports.

  • Conduct financial risk assessments and support the development of financial strategies.

  • Liaise with auditors, banks, tax authorities, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.

  • Strengthen internal controls, enhance financial processes, and ensure audit readiness.

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support management decision-making.



Requirements




  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 10-15 years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical or FMCG industry.

  • ICAN or ACCA certification is mandatory.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, inventory accounting, and cost accounting.

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Tally, or an ERP system.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
