- We are seeking a competent and proactive Biomedical Engineer to join our team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective installation, maintenance, calibration, repair, and management of medical equipment to support the delivery of quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair medical equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and equipment calibration.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults promptly.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
- Ensure all medical equipment complies with safety and regulatory standards.
- Liaise with equipment vendors for servicing and warranty issues.
- Train clinical staff on the proper use and care of medical equipment.
- Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements when necessary.
- Support the procurement, acceptance testing, and commissioning of new medical equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2–3 years' relevant experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Experience maintaining diagnostic, laboratory, theatre, ICU, and imaging equipment is an added advantage.
Other Requirements:
- Professional certification or membership with a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of medical equipment safety standards.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively under pressure.
- Willingness to work beyond regular hours when required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent customer service orientation and a commitment to quality healthcare delivery.
