Job Purpose
- The Aesthetic Nurse is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality aesthetic and cosmetic treatments while ensuring exceptional patient care and satisfaction.
- The role involves conducting patient assessments, assisting with and performing non-surgical aesthetic procedures within scope of practice, providing pre- and post-treatment care, maintaining accurate clinical records, and supporting the overall operations of the aesthetic clinic.
- The ideal candidate is passionate about aesthetics, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Patient Care:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and obtain relevant medical histories.
- Assist physicians with aesthetic and cosmetic procedures where required.
- Perform non-invasive and minimally invasive aesthetic treatments within professional scope and clinic protocols.
- Administer treatments such as chemical peels, microneedling, IV therapy, skin rejuvenation treatments, and other nurse-led aesthetic procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and patients before procedures.
- Monitor patients during and after treatments, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Provide appropriate pre-treatment and post-treatment education and care instructions.
- Identify and escalate any adverse reactions or complications promptly.
Patient Consultation & Education:
- Educate patients on treatment options, expected outcomes, risks, and aftercare.
- Build strong relationships with patients through excellent communication and follow-up care.
- Conduct follow-up consultations to monitor treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Promote patient confidence by maintaining professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.
Clinic Operations:
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure treatment rooms are clean, organized, and compliant with infection prevention and control standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of medical supplies, skincare products, and consumables.
- Assist with stock management and ordering of clinical supplies.
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of medical equipment.
Sales & Client Experience:
- Recommend suitable skincare products and treatment plans based on patients' needs.
- Support the achievement of clinic sales and treatment targets through ethical product and service recommendations.
- Deliver a premium client experience that encourages repeat visits and referrals.
- Handle patient concerns and complaints professionally and promptly.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with nursing regulations, clinic policies, and healthcare standards.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
- Participate in continuous professional development and clinical training.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Patient satisfaction ratings.
- Treatment success and patient retention.
- Compliance with clinical and safety protocols.
- Accuracy and completeness of patient documentation.
- Achievement of treatment and retail sales targets.
- Patient follow-up completion rate.
- Inventory accuracy and minimal wastage.
- Adherence to appointment schedules.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) license.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
- Certification in Aesthetic Nursing or Cosmetic Procedures is an added advantage.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is an added advantage.
Experience:
- 2 - 4 years of nursing experience.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in an aesthetic, cosmetic, dermatology, plastic surgery, or wellness clinic is preferred.
- Experience performing aesthetic procedures and skincare treatments is highly desirable.
