We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee and optimize our transportation and fleet operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet management, logistics, vehicle maintenance, transportation planning, and regulatory compliance.
This role is responsible for ensuring maximum fleet utilization, cost efficiency, timely deliveries, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the company's fleet operations, ensuring maximum vehicle availability, utilization, and performance.
Develop and implement fleet management strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
Plan, coordinate, and monitor vehicle schedules, routing, and dispatch operations.
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize vehicle downtime.
Monitor fuel consumption, maintenance expenses, and fleet operating costs, implementing cost-saving initiatives where necessary.
Ensure compliance with road transport regulations, vehicle licensing, insurance, and statutory requirements.
Manage relationships with vehicle vendors, maintenance contractors, transport partners, and service providers.
Supervise fleet personnel, including drivers and transport coordinators, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
Track fleet performance using GPS tracking systems, telematics, and fleet management software.
Investigate vehicle incidents, accidents, and operational issues while implementing corrective actions.
Prepare fleet performance reports, maintenance records, utilization reports, and transportation KPIs for management.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and safe driving practices.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across fleet and transportation operations.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in Fleet Management, Logistics, or Transportation Operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Proven experience managing large commercial fleets within logistics, FMCG, manufacturing, distribution, or transportation companies.
Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance, vehicle lifecycle management, transportation planning, and route optimization.
