Job Summary




  • Our client is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Semi Senior Audit Associate to join its Audit & Assurance team.

  • The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, executing, and completing audit engagements while supervising and reviewing the work of junior audit team members.

  • This role requires strong technical audit expertise, practical experience using CaseWare, and a sound understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Standards on Auditing (ISA), and financial reporting.

  • The ideal candidate will work closely with Audit Managers and Partners to deliver high-quality audit engagements, ensure compliance with professional standards, provide technical guidance to junior team members, and contribute to the continuous improvement of audit quality and client service.



Key Responsibilities




  • Lead and participate in audit engagements from planning through completion.

  • Supervise, coach, and review the work of junior audit associates to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with auditing standards.

  • Prepare and review audit planning documents, audit programs, working papers, and audit files using CaseWare.

  • Perform and review substantive testing, analytical procedures, and audit documentation.

  • Evaluate internal controls, identify business risks, and recommend practical improvements.

  • Review financial statements for compliance with IFRS and other applicable reporting standards.

  • Ensure audit engagements comply with ISA, firm methodologies, regulatory requirements, and quality control standards.

  • Identify significant audit issues and communicate findings to Audit Managers and Partners.

  • Assist in preparing management letters and audit reports with practical recommendations.

  • Liaise professionally with clients to obtain audit evidence and resolve audit queries.

  • Mentor junior team members by providing technical guidance and on-the-job coaching.

  • Participate in inventory counts, cash counts, and other field audit assignments where required.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the audit practice.

  • Support multiple audit engagements while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality deliverables.

  • Demonstrate flexibility to work extended hours during peak audit periods when required.



Requirements




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • 4–6 years’ progressive audit experience within a reputable audit or professional services firm.

  • Proven experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing the work of junior auditors.

  • Practical working knowledge of CaseWare is mandatory.

  • Strong technical audit competence with a sound understanding of; International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Standards on Auditing (ISA), Financial reporting, Risk assessment, Internal controls, Audit planning and execution

  • Demonstrated experience leading audit assignments and managing multiple client engagements.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, attention to detail, and confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.

  • Willingness and ability to work in a demanding audit environment, including extended hours during peak audit periods.

  • Must possess a relevant professional qualification such as ICAN (ACA). ACCA qualification or active progression toward full qualification will be an added advantage.
