This role is critical to maintaining the reliability, safety, and continuous operations of high-volume fuel distribution systems and fleet refuelling operations.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong mechanical diagnostic capabilities, a commitment to strict safety practices, and the ability to work effectively in a high-demand, safety-critical environment.
Responsibilities
Monitoring piping integrity, filtration systems, and leak detection safeguards
Ensuring operational compliance, environmental safety standards, and accurate maintenance documentation.
Diagnose and resolve faults in fuel transfer lines, valves, and flow meters.
Perform preventive maintenance schedules on pumps, strainers, air eliminators, and filtration systems to prevent downtime.
Respond promptly to fuel leak alarms, equipment failures, and emergency call-outs to restore operations safely.
Inspect pipeline flanges, check valves, relief valves, and emergency shut-off valves for wear and pressure integrity.
Enforce strict safety protocols regarding spill prevention and containment.
Qualifications
OND/Trade Test I, II & III or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related trade.
3–5 years of hands-on experience in servicing heavy-duty fuel pumps, surface fuel tanks, dispensers or depot transfer systems.
Familiarity with large diesel generators above 1MVA
Proven hands-on experience in mechanical seal replacement, fuel filter, pump handling, and flow meter calibration techniques.
Sound understanding of safety guidelines, HSE and fire safety protocols.
