We are seeking a skilled and proactive Technician to join our production team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery and equipment to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
This role is critical to minimising downtime and supporting efficient furniture production.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment issues.
Respond promptly to machine breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
Install, test, and commission new machinery and equipment.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records.
Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with safety standards.
Work closely with Production and Operations teams to improve equipment performance.
Recommend improvements that enhance machine efficiency and reliability.
Keep the workshop and maintenance tools organised and in good condition.
Requirements
OND or Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
Preferred Experience:
Experience maintaining furniture manufacturing equipment such as CNC machines, edge banders, panel saws, spray booths, compressors, dust extraction systems, and woodworking machines.
