  • Translate demand, shipment and inventory plans into daily labour, space, equipment and dock schedules.

  • Maintain disciplined operations, workload allocation and escalation of service risks.

  • Ensure products are stored, handled, packed and dispatched in line with approved product, stacking and handling standards.

Inventory integrity and controls

  • Enforce FIFO/FEFO, batch and expiry controls, quarantine, segregation and traceability requirements, where applicable.

  • Implement preventive controls against shrinkage, damage, contamination, obsolescence, pilferage and documentation gaps.

  • Ensure all stock adjustments, damages, returns and write-offs follow approved authorization and audit trails.

Systems, records and reporting

  • Drive correct and timely use of the WMS/ERP and ensure every stock movement is accurately recorded.

  • Maintain complete operational records, including receipts, dispatches, transfers, counts, incidents and equipment checks.

  • Issue accurate daily, weekly and monthly performance reports, highlighting exceptions, root causes, corrective actions and owners.

Client and stakeholder management

  • Serve as the primary site contact for the client and maintain clear communication on priorities, performance, constraints and exceptions.

  • Lead operating reviews, resolve service issues promptly and deliver agreed corrective and preventive actions.

  • Coordinate transporters, vendors, regulators and other partners required for effective site operations.

People leadership, safety and compliance

  • Lead, coach and hold the warehouse team accountable through clear roles, daily direction, performance reviews and skills development.

  • Enforce segregation of duties, access controls, standard operating procedures and approval limits.

  • Maintain a safe workplace through risk assessments, toolbox talks, PPE compliance, incident reporting, emergency readiness and corrective action.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable client standards, company policies, insurance requirements and statutory obligations.

Cost, capacity and continuous improvement

  • Manage warehouse operating costs, overtime, consumables, equipment use and third-party services within approved budgets.

  • Monitor capacity, space utilization and storage configuration, recommending changes before constraints affect service.

  • Lead root-cause analysis and improvement initiatives that increase productivity, reduce handling, eliminate waste and strengthen controls.

  • Maintain business-continuity plans for disruptions, equipment failure, security events and abnormal inventory movements.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ progressive warehouse or distribution-centre experience, including at least 2 years leading a team or shift.

  • Hands-on experience with WMS/ERP transactions, inventory reconciliation, cycle counts and warehouse performance reporting.

  • Strong working knowledge of receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, FIFO/FEFO, stock controls and material- handling operations.

  • Experience in FMCG, raw and packaging materials, or high-volume multi-SKU warehousing is an advantage.

  • Relevant supply-chain, warehousing, safety or quality certification is an advantage.
