The Accountant is responsible for managing the Company's financial records, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining statutory compliance, and supporting sound financial decision-making.
The role involves preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, managing receivables and payables, performing reconciliations, and ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
The Accountant will also provide financial insights to support operational efficiency and business growth.
Responsibilities
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Prepare and process payroll in collaboration with the People & Performance Department.
Prepare statutory tax filings and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including VAT, PAYE, WHT, Pension, NSITF, ITF, and other applicable obligations.
Monitor departmental budgets and expenditures, providing variance analysis and recommendations to Management.
Maintain proper financial records and supporting documentation for all transactions.
Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.
Monitor cash flow and provide regular cash position reports to Management.
Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, journals, and other financial documents.
Ensure compliance with the Company's financial policies, internal controls, and approval processes.
Coordinate with banks, vendors, clients, auditors and regulatory agencies on financial matters.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the finance function.
Prepare Monthly, Quarterly and Annual financial analysis and reports to support strategic business decisions.
Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements
Candidates should possess a Bachelor Degree in relevant discipline with 3 - 5 years working experience in the same role.
