Role Description

• The Medical Officer is a full-time, on-site role based at Genesis Specialist Hospital in Ikeja.


• This role involves providing direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up across critical care and surgical units.


• The Medical Officer will support surgical teams in pre-operative and post-operative management, monitor patients in intensive care units, and participate in multidisciplinary case reviews.


• Responsibilities include maintaining accurate medical records, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, collaborating closely with consultants and other physicians, and contributing to clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.


• The Medical Officer will also participate in continuous medical education, training activities, and patient education to promote safe and effective care.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Medicine, including clinical assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment.


• Demonstrated competence in Patient Care, with a focus on critical care, surgical patients, and pain management.


• Ability to work effectively with Physicians and other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team.


• Experience in Training, teaching, or mentoring junior medical staff or clinical trainees is an advantage.


• Recognized medical degree and valid license to practice; relevant postgraduate training or specialization is a plus.


• Strong communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.


• Willingness to work in a fast-paced hospital environment, including shift and weekend duties as required.
