Job Description
Overall Purpose of the Role
- To provide technical engineering support for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability, and optimization of static and rotating equipment within plant operations, ensuring equipment integrity, safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for static and rotating equipment in oil & gas, petrochemical, or fertilizer facilities.
- Perform technical assessment, troubleshooting, and reliability analysis of pumps, compressors, exchangers, pressure vessels, and related equipment.
- Review and interpret P&IDs, Mechanical Data Sheets (MDS), equipment datasheets, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Develop and review equipment specifications, technical requisitions, datasheets, and vendor documentation.
- Provide technical input into maintenance strategies, shutdowns, turnarounds, and modification projects.
- Ensure equipment designs and maintenance activities comply with applicable API, ASME, ISO, and industry standards.
- Liaise with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, Process, and Project teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
- Review vendor drawings, calculations, manuals, and technical documentation
Key Equipment Exposure
The successful candidate must have practical experience working with:
Rotating Equipment:
- Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
- Compressors
- Mechanical seals and associated auxiliaries
- Drivers, couplings, bearings, and lubrication systems
- Rotating equipment alignment and troubleshooting
Static Equipment:
- Heat exchangers
- Pressure vessels
- Storage tanks
- Piping and associated static components
- Valves and mechanical equipment
Required Technical Knowledge:
- Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs and Mechanical Data Sheets (MDS).
- Good understanding of equipment datasheets and mechanical specifications.
- Knowledge of equipment inspection, maintenance, reliability, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of mechanical integrity and equipment reliability principles.
- Familiarity with relevant API and ASME standards.
- Ability to review engineering drawings, vendor documents, and technical reports.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 6–10 years of relevant engineering experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer facilities.
- Proven hands-on experience with pumps and compressors.
- Demonstrable experience with heat exchangers and other static equipment.
- Strong knowledge of P&IDs, MDS, equipment datasheets, and mechanical specifications.
- Experience working in plant operations, maintenance, projects, commissioning, or turnaround environments.
