About the Role




  • Pact Microfinance Bank is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical and results-driven Finance Officer to join our team.

  • The successful candidate will support the Bank’s financial operations, reporting, reconciliations, compliance and internal controls while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.



Key Responsibilities




  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and accounting records.

  • Process and post financial transactions and maintain general ledger accounts.

  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly bank and ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and other financial reports.

  • Support budgeting, financial forecasting and monitoring of expenditure against approved budgets.

  • Process invoices, payment requests and other financial documentation, ensuring appropriate approvals and supporting documents.

  • Monitor accounts payable, receivable and cash flow.

  • Support tax, statutory and other regulatory financial obligations.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing activities.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules and documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, financial procedures and internal controls.

  • Provide financial analysis and information to support management decision-making.

  • Identify process or control gaps and recommend improvements.

  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information.

  • Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by Management.



Requirements




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.

  • 3–4 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting or a similar role.

  • Professional accounting qualification or progress towards ICAN/ACCA is an advantage.

  • Experience in the banking, microfinance or financial services industry is highly desirable.

  • Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and internal controls.

  • Knowledge of Nigerian tax and statutory compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.

  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management.

  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and professional judgement.
