Description

• We are seeking a creative, passionate and professionally competent Fine Arts Teacher who can inspire pupils to discover, develop and confidently express their artistic abilities.


• The successful candidate will be expected to combine strong subject knowledge with effective teaching practice, creativity and a genuine passion for children's holistic development.

Key Responsibilties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate Fine Arts lessons that align with the school's curriculum and learning objectives.


• Teaching pupils a range of artistic techniques including drawing, painting, craft, design, illustration and other relevant forms of visual art.


• Developing pupils' creativity, imagination, confidence and artistic expression.


• Identifying pupils with particular artistic abilities and providing opportunities for them to further develop their talents.


• Creating differentiated learning experiences that cater to pupils with varying abilities, interests and learning needs.


• Introducing pupils to notable artists, artistic movements, creative techniques and diverse cultural expressions.


• Integrating appropriate technology and contemporary creative tools into the teaching and learning of Art.


• Designing and supervising individual and group art projects.


• Organising exhibitions, displays and creative showcases that celebrate pupils' work and achievements.


• Preparing pupils for relevant art competitions, exhibitions and school events.


• Maintaining accurate lesson plans, assessment records and records of pupil progress.


• Assessing pupils fairly and providing constructive feedback that supports continuous improvement.


• Creating and maintaining a safe, stimulating and well organised Art learning environment.


• Ensuring the responsible use, storage and maintenance of art materials, tools and equipment.


• Collaborating with other teachers to support interdisciplinary and STEAM learning.


• Supporting school programmes, assemblies, events and extracurricular activities where required.


• Incorporating appropriate Christian principles and values into classroom teaching and pupil interactions.


• Promoting discipline, respect, creativity, excellence, responsibility and good character among pupils.


• Supporting pupils who require differentiated learning approaches.


• Maintaining professional relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues and Management.


• Participating actively in staff meetings, training and professional development programmes.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A Bachelor's Degree from a reputable A list university with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2:1) in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Art Education, Creative Arts or a related discipline.


• Valid TRCN registration/certification is mandatory.


• A minimum of 2 years' relevant teaching experience, preferably within a reputable primary or secondary school.


• Demonstrable practical artistic ability and a strong understanding of fine arts education.


• Strong knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods and classroom management.


• Experience developing creative projects, exhibitions or art related activities will be an advantage.


• Knowledge of contemporary art practices and digital creative tools will be an advantage.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Ability to develop engaging, differentiated and learner-centred lessons.


• Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development.
