Key Responsibilities
- Design & Calculations: Calculate pipeline wall thickness, on-bottom stability, and mechanical strength to handle high pressure and ocean currents.
- Route Selection: Map safe paths on the seabed using survey data, avoiding hazards like rocks and shipping lanes.
- Installation Support: Write technical plans for laying pipes from specialized marine vessels (such as S-lay or J-lay barges).
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work follows global engineering standards like DNV, API, and ISO.
- Testing & Integrity: Oversee pre-commissioning tasks like hydrotesting, cleaning, and ongoing corrosion monitoring.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Ocean, or Offshore Engineering.
- Experience: 4 to 12+ years working on subsea or marine pipeline projects.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in design and stress analysis tools like OrcaFlex, OFFPIPE, or Caesar II.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of international codes (DNV-ST-F101, ASME, API) and offshore construction methods.
