Job Summary
- We are seeking a Structural Engineer Intern to join our construction team and support the design, analysis, and execution of structural works across our projects.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in structural engineering, construction, and site operations, with a willingness to learn and work under the supervision of experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist structural engineers with the design and analysis of reinforced concrete, steel, and other structural elements.
- Support the preparation and review of structural drawings, calculations, schedules, and technical documents.
- Assist with site inspections to monitor structural works and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Observe and support reinforcement, formwork, concrete, steelwork, and other structural construction activities.
- Take measurements and assist with quantity take-offs and material estimations.
- Help identify and report structural defects, construction discrepancies, and quality issues.
- Participate in site meetings and coordinate with architects, contractors, foremen, and other project team members.
- Assist in ensuring construction activities comply with relevant engineering standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, measurements, and technical observations.
- Perform other engineering-related duties assigned by the supervising engineer or project manager.
Requirements
- Recent graduate (NYSC)with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Good understanding of structural engineering principles and construction practices.
- Familiarity with structural drawings and construction documentation.
- Basic knowledge of design/engineering software such as AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, or Revit is an advantage.
- Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work on construction sites and adapt to a practical, hands-on environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety practices.
