Position Purpose
- Following a strategic transition in the Operations Department, Post Assurance Brokers Limited seeks a highly competent, driven, and technically sound Head of Operations to step into the operational leadership gap.
- The successful candidate will take charge of daily operations, maintaining the high standards of operational acumen, technical depth, and client satisfaction established by the department.
- Manager will drive end-to-end operational workflows—spanning policy administration, claims management, business development, and underwriting relationship management—while upholding NAICOM compliance and ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Technical Underwriting & Policy Administration
- Lead the end-to-end administration of policy issuance, endorsements, cover notes, and policy renewals across core technical verticals (Energy/Oil & Gas, Aviation, Maritime, Construction/Engineering, and Commercial Lines).
- Conduct high-level policy reviews and risk audits to ensure client coverage aligns with exposure and global best practices.
- Maintain flawless operational standards compliant with the firm’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) framework.
Relationship Management & Market Intermediation
- Cultivate and sustain strategic relationships between clients, local underwriting companies, and international reinsurance partners.
- Negotiate competitive terms, policy wordings, and pricing with insurers on complex and high-value risks.
- Serve as the operational focal point for client advisory, risk mitigation, and ongoing risk management consultancy.
Technical Claims Management & Advocacy
- Oversee the complete claims lifecycle, ensuring prompt notification, accurate evaluation, and swift settlement of claims.
- Act as an aggressive client advocate in complex, high-hazard technical claims negotiations.
- Implement structured claims reporting metrics to provide regular operational updates to executive management.
NAICOM Compliance & Operational Governance
- Ensure strict adherence to National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) guidelines, industry rules, and Nigerian data protection standards.
- Guarantee that all broking documentation, slip placements, and regulatory filings are audit-ready and fully compliant.
- Monitor changing regulatory frameworks and adjust internal operational processes accordingly.
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Partner with executive leadership to drive portfolio growth and secure new business opportunities across strategic industrial sectors.
- Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within the existing client portfolio through periodic risk profile reviews.
- Lead technical pitch presentations and bid preparations for major corporate and industrial accounts.

Mandatory Qualifications & Job Specifications
- Current Industry Role: Must be currently employed within a recognized Insurance Broking Firm(mandatory).
- Professional Qualification: Must be CIIN Qualified, minimum of 5 years in possession and practice. (Associate or Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria - ACII / AIIN) (mandatory).
- Work Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of active, verifiable working experience as an Insurance Brokerwith demonstrated experience in complex risk placement (mandatory).
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of technical underwriting across Oil & Gas, Marine, Aviation, and Construction lines. Familiarity with international reinsurance placements (e.g., London Market/Lloyd's capacity) is an added advantage.

- Negotiation & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional capability to manage client-underwriter dynamics, negotiate complex terms, and close placements.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: High accuracy in risk assessment, technical policy review, and claims evaluation.
