Purpose

• To monitor microbiological impurities or contamination that can affect production outcomes, control environmental factors and maintain sterility.

The Job

• Support the Microbiologist on microbiological analysis of raw & packaging materials, finished products and production equipment per shift


• Track and report microbiological product quality


• Carry out routine hygiene compliance swab sampling (production air sampling, production personnel, canteen personnel hand and staff laundry)


• Ensure daily cleanliness of the microbiological laboratory


• Monitor quality and stock of reagents


• Support in supervision and implementation of HACCP and its perquisites programs


• Highlight out-of-situation observations for follow up


• Provide inputs for the review of departmental SOP’s and FSMS documents


• Be aware of the company food safety policy and departmental food safety objective and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Food safety and Quality Management system.


• Report any food safety related concern to the Food Safety Team leader or designee via appropriate channel within the factory

Requirements

Qualification:

• OND in Science Laboratory Technology or Microbiology.

Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year cognate experience in similar position in FMCG or manufacturing industry.

The Person Must:

• Have sound understanding of laboratory testing procedures and quality control principles.


• Possess god knowledge of food safety standards, GMP< HACCP and FSMS requirements.


• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Have good accuracy and attention to detail.


• Be proactive and a good team player
