Job Summary




  • FMR Agency is recruiting a proactive and resourceful Procurement Officer to support the procurement operations of a fast-paced supermarket business.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality products, negotiating with suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely procurement of goods at competitive prices.



Key Responsibilities




  • Source and procure products, materials, and supplies required for daily supermarket operations.

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure quality products at competitive prices.

  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and ensure timely delivery of purchased goods.

  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the Inventory Officer to prevent stock shortages and overstocking.

  • Conduct market surveys to identify new suppliers, pricing trends, and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure accurate procurement documentation.

  • Verify the quality and quantity of supplied goods against purchase orders.

  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement-related issues promptly.

  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

  • Prepare periodic procurement reports and perform other duties as assigned by Management.



Requirements




  • Minimum of OND in Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Procurement Officer is mandatory.

  • Proven experience sourcing a wide range of supermarket products and managing supplier relationships.

  • Good knowledge of the Lagos market, supplier network, and major commercial areas.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound purchasing decisions.

  • Willingness to reside in the company's shared staff accommodation.
