Job Summary

• The role is responsible for assisting the Research and Development team in operational activities involved in new product development and/or reformulation of existing products.


• It also involves carrying out the details of the technical requirements in pilot formulation and/or rework processing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute processing details for formulation development of oral solids, oral liquids, and topicals.


• Execute pre-formulation studies for formulation development.


• Initiate stability studies for new and existing products


• Withdraw and transfer stability samples to relevant units’ laboratories.


• Follow up on the collation of stability results from QC, IPC, and the microbiologist.


• Characterization of innovator/reference brands.


• Carry out laboratory trials for reformulation of existing products.


• Follow up on quality control analysis for new product trials.


• Prepare relevant technical documents related to formulation development.


• Other duties as may be required in line with departmental objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in any science-related discipline (Chemistry-Based).


• Minimum of three (4) years in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment


• Understanding of the Chemistry of API and excipients.


• Understanding of validation, qualification, and technology transfer.

Key Competencies:

• Ability to identify and solve complex formulation-related problems.


• Familiarity with scientific literature and ability to stay up-to -date with the latest developments in pharmaceutical formulation.


• Effective communication with cross-functional teams, including R&D and manufacturing.


• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.


• Effective time management to balance formulation development, testing, and documentation.
