Job Summary




  • As the Portfolio Manager, you will manage investment portfolios, develop investment strategies, execute trading activities, and optimize portfolio performance in line with client objectives and risk parameters.



Responsibilities




  • Construct and manage diversified portfolios, develop investment strategies based on clients’ Investment Policy Statements (IPS), and allocate assets according to risk profiles and objectives.

  • Research and generate investment opportunities across bonds, equities, fixed income, and other asset classes, while monitoring economic trends, market developments, and portfolio performance.

  • Communicate investment instructions to brokers and counterparties, and liaise with fund managers, banks, Trustees, real estate partners, and other market participants on investment and fund-related matters.

  • Prepare investment memos, performance reports, portfolio reviews, mutual fund factsheets, and quarterly reports, presenting relevant insights to senior management and clients.

  • Use financial models and analytics to forecast returns, assess portfolio health, conduct risk assessments, and provide recommendations on investment positions and corporate actions.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, Trustees, SEC regulations, and other relevant authorities while supporting budgeting, liquidity planning, and capital allocation activities.



Requirements




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in portfolio management, investment management, asset management, or a related field, with exposure to real estate, equities, and fixed income.

  • Strong understanding of financial markets, valuation techniques, asset allocation, portfolio management, and investment strategies.

  • Proficiency in portfolio management tools and financial modelling, including Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg or similar platforms.

  • In-depth knowledge of Naira and Eurobonds and Nigerian/international equities is mandatory; SEC-sponsored individual status is an advantage.

  • Strong relationships with issuing houses, banks, brokers, Trustees, and other sell-side market participants, with excellent analytical, communication, and client-management skills.
