Key Responsibilities

• Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Junior Finance Officer to support the company’s day-to-day financial and accounting operations.


• Process and record daily financial transactions accurately.


• Assist with accounts payable and receivable activities.


• Prepare and maintain invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other financial documents.


• Track project-related expenses, operational costs, and petty cash.


• Review invoices and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.


• Monitor expenditure on materials, equipment, labour, subcontractors, logistics, and other project costs.


• Reconcile bank accounts, cash transactions, supplier accounts, and other financial records.


• Monitor outstanding invoices, payments, and receivables.


• Assist with monthly financial reports, expense summaries, and project cost reports.


• Support budget monitoring by comparing actual expenditure against approved budgets.


• Assist with audit preparation and maintain organised financial records.


• Identify discrepancies and escalate issues when necessary.


• Ensure compliance with internal financial procedures and controls.

Requirements

• B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.


• 2–3 years of relevant accounting/finance experience.


• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, Odoo, Zoho Books, or similar accounting software is an advantage.


• Strong numerical, analytical, organisational, and record-keeping skills.


• Good attention to detail and accuracy.


• Ability to work effectively with finance and non-finance teams.


• High level of integrity and confidentiality.


• Experience in construction, civil engineering, contracting, procurement, or other project-based businesses is an advantage.


• ICAN, ACCA, ATS, or progress towards a professional accounting qualification is an added advantage.
