Job Description
Responsibilities:
Fleet – Electrical Maintenance & Fault Repair:
- Carry out preventive and corrective electrical maintenance across the generator fleet to maximise uptime.
- Diagnose and repair faults on control panels, AVRs, alternators/excitation, ATS/AMF, protection relays and battery/charging systems.
- Maintain accurate service records and fault reports for each unit.
Projects – Installation & Commissioning:
- Install and terminate generator control panels, cabling, distribution boards and changeover systems on project sites.
- Commission generators — set up controllers, synchronisation and load sharing, and perform load-bank/performance testing.
- Work from electrical drawings and single-line diagrams; support handover documentation.
Service & Maintenance (S&M) – Site Service:
- Attend client sites under service contracts for scheduled servicing and breakdown response.
- Troubleshoot electrical site issues quickly and safely, minimising client downtime.
- Advise clients and complete service checklists and reports.
Requirements
- B.Eng in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering — a full engineering degree is required for this role.
- Minimum 5 years' relevant post-graduation experience in a relevant scope of work — diesel and gas generator electrical systems across fleet, projects and service.
- COREN / NSE registration (or working towards it) is an advantage.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to sites
