JOB DESCRIPTION



  • Directing inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation, safety performance, or logistics quality management.

  • Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries.

  • Allocating and recording resources and movements on the transport planning system.

  • Ensuring all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.

  • Communicating effectively with customers and responding to their requirements.

  • Reconciling daily trip performance reports with the tracking system report

  • Managing drivers, vehicles, loads  and all their related road activities for multi-drop deliveries

  • Developing transportation relationships.

  • Engaging with government agencies within and around business environs.

  • Ensuring that delivery receipts are signed and check your waybill properly at source before leaving

  • Handling booking in deliveries and liaises with customers.

  • In charge of allocating and recording resources and movements on the transport planning system.

  • Ensuring all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.

  • Developing transportation relationships.

  • In charge of negotiating and bargaining transportation prices.

  • Daily compilation of logistic requests from inventory department and timely dispatch of the same

  • Daily/weekly/monthly reporting of logistics activities

  • Ensuring constructive feedback and proper communication among transporters to the Line manager.

  • Transporter payment tracking and clearing with the account / Finance

  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency

  • Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements


OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Degree in relevant course

  • Record of successful distribution and logistics management

  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff

  • Proficient in standard logistics software

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Result oriented

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
