Job Description
This role is part of Operations – Manufacturing faction of BAT.
The role is responsible for managing the Utilities Section of Engineering Department within the Ibadan factory. The main duties are the supply of Utilities Services (electrical power, steam, compressed air, vacuum, water, HVAC) to the Ibadan factory site. The role holder is required to identify and resolve problems in mechanical/electrical/electronic systems and explore opportunities to ensure that production activities are maintained at maximum achievable levels and that system are representative of the business needs.
Reports to: Engineering Utilities Manager
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Ensuring 100% availability of utilities to various users within the factory and enabling production to proceed unhindered.
- Managing the utilities and buildings management control system to its optimum condition.
- Developing and executing effective maintenance planning and scheduling for all Utilities machines encompassing plants maintained by in-house BAT personnel or 3rd Party Suppliers
- Owning and leading all activities related to the maintenance of HV/MV transformers, substations, switchgears, and earthing systems
- Managing of specific O&M (operations and maintenance) suppliers and contracts (monitoring, supervision, and reporting).
- Ensuring compliance with all internal and external Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
- Developing and coaching the talent within the department with a view to achieving standards of operation, maintenance, and cost performance.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum of BSc/HND in Electrical Engineering or related course
- Minimum of five years’ experience working with Power Equipment (Power Generation, Drives & Motors, Electrical Panels), of which at least two has been spent in supervisory capacity in an FMCG
- Sound understanding of standard code of practice as it relates to Electrical Engineering; ability to read Civil/Mechanical/Electrical drawings and schematics
- Understanding of Quality Inspection and Certification of Mechanical/Electrical systems
- Experience with leading teams and managing team and individual performance
