Job Description
The Construction Engineer is responsible for organising and managing sites and contractors from pre-construction period, through site build and completion, and up to commissioning and handover to an operations site manager/engineer.
Responsibilities
- Implement approved electrical and solar design from the design team.
- Perform preconstruction site visits on prospect sites to determine the structural integrity, and utility/facility constraints, collect information regarding construction permits and confirm the accuracy of site audit report
- Supervise site construction lifecycle from auditing pre-deployment reports and subcontractors’ pre-construction drawings, to verifying Bill of Quantity (BOQ), site layouts, solar roof plans, string, and electrical diagrams.
- Ensure budget compliance and adhere to the fixed and variable budget cap on assigned projects.
- Commission solar hybrid systems with 2-way communication for automation and remote monitoring, to ensure uninterrupted service and customer satisfaction
- Design AC and DC-coupled PV-hybrid systems based on clients' load profile and the available space for solar array.
- Ensure that standard and quality electrical and solar installation procedures are adhered to.
- Provide support and guidance to procurement department during OEM selection and vendor appraisal and management.
- Managing and communicating project schedules and status updates to clients and other stakeholders during construction. Also, provide post commissioning client support

- Maintain a vigilant approach to risk management, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks and raising concerns to the construction group head and appropriate authorities.

- Ensure that the Company’s Health, Safety and Environment policies are always complied with, and that Health, Safety and Environment is an integral part of all work practices.
- Support the commercial teams in the preparation of bids, BOQs and proposals in line with Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
- Provide guidance, oversight and mentoring to junior engineers.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience working in this field.
- Good understanding of renewable energy(solar)
- Technical capacity, Problem solving/ Analysis skill.
- Communication Proficiency
- Toughness and collaboration skills.
- Project Management skill.
- Intermediate use of Microsoft Office Suite (Including Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook).
