Role Summary
We are looking for a social media manager to help us manage our communities across our digital platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn).
Responsibilities
- The Social Media Manager for Vendease Africa is a creative and innovative talent on our Marketing and Social Futures team.
- This role is intended for someone with strong written communication skills and enthusiasm about joining a leading food and hospitality brand.
- Our ideal candidate is obsessed with pop culture, especially as it relates to lifestyle and food culture in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
- They have a good knowledge of how the various social media platforms work and can track analytics using various tools.
- They are extremely creative, have great organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- This person will report to the Social Futures Lead (based in Lagos). They will work closely with the broader Marketing and Communications teams to optimise content for social platforms.
- They will be responsible for translating both editorial content and client briefs into social posts where necessary.
- They should be comfortable interacting with influencers and market stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Take ownership of Vendease’s social platforms, execution and day-to-day optimizations to increase traffic, engagement, and other core KPIs
- Community Management: Answer questions/DMs/Comments on behalf of Vendease on social media in a timely and correct manner
- Collaborate with video, comms and designers to develop content calendars and rollout strategies that are optimised for the Vendease audience
- Work in partnership with the content and design teams to continually improve how social media drives traffic and loyalty
- Create and post content on a daily basis based on approved monthly content calendars
- Work with Social Futures lead to report on regular progress and learnings; Adjust social strategy according to KPI pacing and report on wins and losses
- Event coverage for Vendease based on communicated briefs; cover events highlights and distribute content across relevant channels & provide performance reports.
- Become an advocate for Vendease in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate
- Identify and maintain relationships with internal and external content partners
- Keep up to date with the latest social media trends and incorporate into existing strategies
Requirements
- 2 - 3 years of experience in social media marketing
- Creativity and collaborative skills
- Passionate about food and the food industry
- Professional experience with social publishing and listening tools
- Strong editorial judgement including copywriting and editing skills
- Obsessed with social media trends across different platforms
- Ability to hit key social and engagement metrics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience using apps like Canva, Capcut is a plus
