About the role:


Engineering Managers at uLesson are experienced engineers accountable for coaching engineers through their careers. They provide technical oversight and direction, contribute to making the right product decisions, and support the team with the appropriate process to deliver the customer experience.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Contribute to the system architecture, and oversee the implementation of the technical roadmap, including feature deployment, ensuring the stability of the business’s core platforms.

  • Work closely with product managers to identify and align priorities and ensure timely delivery.

  • Ensure excellence in engineering disciplines, including data processing, quality assurance, application development, analytics, algorithms, and data warehousing.

  • Provide technical guidance and direction, as well as hands-on resource and project management, for all software development activities implemented by the teams.

  • Contribute and execute engineering best practices.

  • Be a servant leader who mentors and develops other engineers aiming at a high-performing team that delivers continuously.

  • Actively contribute to the Engineering and Technology organisational structure, teaming and culture to support the business objectives and customer deliverables.

  • Evaluate the technical challenges faced by the business and, in contribution to the team, suggest solutions to those challenges.


Qualifications and Skills:



  • 5+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager.

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.

  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.

  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.

  • High standards of analytical, organisational, communicational and detail-oriented skills.

  • Proven experience dealing with salary reviews, performance review cycles, hiring and teaming.
