The Earthwork Supervisor provides day to day oversight and direction to the Earthmoving Machinery Operator and field personnel assigned to on-site construction projects.
Brings specialized knowledge and experience in executing projects particularly in land development operations with the aim of setting up a construction.
Create an ideal base for various types of construction.
Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and manage earthwork activities safely.
Supervise Earthmoving machinery during excavation, back filling and clearing.
Prepare for project startup with the Project Manager/ Project Engineer.
Execute project activities as required to meet day-to-day and overall objectives.
Understand and apply the requirements in project documents with regard to quality control procedures such as testing, shop drawings, material approvals, samples, mock-ups, execution of the work, etc.
Become familiar with each job estimate for general condition items and follow the direction of the Project Manager/Project Engineer with regards to performing work within the boundaries of the estimate.
Keep the Project Engineer updated of any change in activity or cost prior to incurring additional time or materials outside of the project scope.
Plan and review the construction project with the Project Manager on a weekly basis.
Requirements
Candidates should possess a B.Eng / B.Sc qualification.
Minimum of Five (5) years experience in boundary, topographic and construction surveys, design surveys, subdivision plats, water rights surveys, horizontal and vertical control networks for aerials and GPS surveys.
Experience in the construction industry required.
Must have strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, be self-directed with good verbal and written communication skills.
