Job Description



  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with local businesses, government officials, and other community partners.

  • Develop new policies for the hospital to improve patient experience and satisfaction.

  • Ensure that all hospital policies and procedures are being followed by staff and that any deviations are addressed in a timely and effective manner.

  • Implement business development strategies that meet overall organizational goals 

  • Maintain a high level of communication with staff, patients, and families to ensure that everyone is kept up to date on the latest hospital news, changes, and events.

  • Manage the hospital’s budget and financial planning, ensuring that the hospital remains fiscally responsible.

  • Ensure efficient administration of the Hospital, particularly with regard to ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure that there is proper accounting for and control over all income and expenditure of the Hospital.

  • Monitor expenses and suggest cost-effective alternatives to management.

  • Work with the HODs in operations, patient care, finance, staffing, and facility maintenance and ensure continuous improvement

  • Work with the finance department and operations department in debt recovery and payment from retainers (hospitals and HMOs).

  • Formulate a plan and propose various marketing strategies in accordance with corporate policy for the hospital brand.

  • Plan and oversee the construction and renovation of hospital buildings and facilities.

  • Stay up to date on the latest trends and developments in the healthcare industry and ensure that the hospital is keeping up with these changes.

  • Streamline the operational procedures of the facility to provide patients with the best care.

  • Assess strategic partnership opportunities with several business stakeholders in the industry

  • Creating a communication plan to be used across all marketing and PR

  • Monthly detailed report of the activity should be submitted to the management


Qualifications



  • First degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or Masters, MBA or PhD, or a degree-level equivalent qualification in a Health or Management-related.

  • Minimum of 7 - 9 years of experience as a Business Manager in a Hospital

  • Hands-on experience with database systems and proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel

  • Solid understanding of healthcare procedures and regulations

  • Decision-making ability, particularly in sensitive areas such as the allocation of funds or organizing staff levels for a unit;

  • Initiative and leadership skills and the ability to gain the trust, commitment and cooperation of others;

  • Organisational skills to deal with a diverse range of challenges;

  • Numeracy and the ability to analyze complex issues, absorb information, understand data, and identify underlying trends;
