A Logistics Manager is someone who organizes the storage and distribution of goods for a company. Their duties include organizing the distribution and storage of goods, planning to consolidate site volumes, and managing the supply plan with other departments.
Logistics officers are responsible for the movement of goods and materials within an organization or between organizations. They plan, coordinate, and manage the flow of these materials to ensure that they arrive at their destination on time and in good condition.
Logistics officers may work with a variety of different types of goods—from food products to raw materials to finished products ready for sale. Regardless of what they’re handling, they must be able to effectively plan out how best to move it from point A to point B. This might involve developing new processes or procedures to streamline the delivery process, coordinating with vendors or suppliers to arrange pickup or drop-off times, etc.
Responsibilities
Managing and planning for logistics or transportation issues
Keeping track of the number of goods as well as stock levels, delivery times, and transportation costs
Maintaining reports and records of inventory
Managing and coordinating with the transportation team
Supervising and training any warehouse staff members
Tracking the status of goods in real time to ensure contracts are being fulfilled
Delivering solutions to any logistics problems while maintaining a high-quality service
Negotiating contracts with suppliers and manufacturers
Collaborating with other team members to develop plans for transporting goods from one location to another
Coordinating movement schedules and routes with other companies to ensure that goods arrive on time and without damage
Managing inventory and supervising staff members who handle inventory control, including ordering new inventory when necessary
Ensuring that containers are properly labeled with addresses, contents, and weights, for easy identification etc.
Training staff members on proper transporting techniques and procedures, as well as safety procedures regarding hazardous materials and dangerous locations.
Developing and implementing effective tracking systems to monitor the progress of deliveries in real time

Requirements
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / HND qualification with 5 - 14 years work experience.
