Job Description/Responsibilities



  • Monitor and assess the condition of critically ill patients in the ICU, including vital signs, ECG readings, and other physiological parameters.

  • Work closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for ICU patients.

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring accurate dosage and monitoring for any adverse reactions.

  • Operate and maintain life support equipment, including ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring devices, and other specialized ICU equipment.

  • Act as an advocate for patients and their families, providing emotional support and ensuring effective communication regarding the patient's condition and treatment plan.

  • Respond promptly to changes in patients' conditions or emergencies, providing immediate and appropriate interventions.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

  • Implement and adhere to infection control protocols to minimize the risk of hospital-acquired infections.

  • Educate patients and their families on the patient's condition, treatment plan, and post-ICU care.


Job Requirements



  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred.

  • Completion of specialized training in critical care or ICU nursing.

  • Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or similar certifications.

  • Proficient in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS).

  • Competency in the use of ICU equipment and technology.

  • Ability to interpret and respond to critical patient indicators (vital signs, lab values, etc.).

  • Strong critical thinking skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions in emergency situations.

  • Effective communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Ability to convey complex medical information in a clear and understandable manner.

  • Keen attention to detail for monitoring and documenting patient conditions accurately.

  • Emotional resilience to cope with high-stress situations and provide compassionate care.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Willingness to stay updated on advancements in critical care and nursing practices.

  • Physical stamina to handle long shifts and demanding patient care tasks.

  • Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic and fast-paced environment of the ICU.
