Job Detail
Prudently manage all operational assets i.e. staffbuses,leasevehicles, short hires and othertransport business unit towards good profit and growth through efficient fleet operations and excellent customer satisfaction.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Develop productivity processes and closely monitor, analyse and report results of fleet operational excellence.
- Strategizeanddriveday-to-day workflow of all fleet operations with focus on excellent execution of Standard Operating Procedures to ensure growth through Customer satisfaction
- OTIF management of fleet maintenance (preventive, routine and corrective repairs) to avoid business disruption.
- Inculcate safety culture amongst every employee to drive best practice in Company safety standards while ensuring our clients are educated on same and comply.
- Ensure availability of vehicles needed for operations & keep vehicle downtime atless than 5% efficiency rate.
- Prepare, monitor, and control set budgets on maintenance and spare parts.
- Develop cost control and cost reduction strategies to ensure that budgeted profit target are met.
- Monitor and approve profitable vehicle sourcing for 3 rd party transactions when needed.
- Develop and regularly review systems/procedures to improve operations and efficiency within the business unit.
- Performance Management Responsibilities
- Attend relevanttrainings in Transportation, Fleet Management and Maintenance. Putting them to effective on-the-job use.
- Prioritize learning, development and growth with self and direct reports to improve staff competences, promote use oftechnology and motivate Employees to be accountable individuals standing up forintegrity.
- Monitor, analyses and report service levels, Customer feedback and regularly interpret Customer satisfaction surveys to drive excellence within the industry.
- Evaluate and identify skill gaps, provide training and mentoring; manage and reward our “Human Capital” on the basis of Key Performance Indicators.
- Complete professional exams and/or affiliation with CILT either in the UK or Nigeria.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Take financial leadership of price positioning for services to the extent of becoming benchmark supplier within the industry
- Drive Supplier negotiations to achieve more favorable buying terms in everything we procure and manage the Business Unit prudently towards solid profitable growth.
- Promote and educate our target customers through our external brochure, newsletters, tweet, Facebook and other platforms.
- Stayfocusedonproductivity levelsand closelymonitor, analyzeandreportresults ofoperational excellence or gaps.
- Management of all 3rd party providers including maintenance through Supplier audits with the purpose of maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing costs.
- Pay attention and handle escalations affecting key operations to ensure prompt resolution.
- Liaise with and maintain good working relationships with transport Authorities (LASTMA, VIO, FRSC, Police 1 JOB DESCRIPTION – Operations Manager – .).
- Keep abreast of Government regulations as it relates to the Transport Sector.
- Closely work with all BUs and Support Functions in order to achieve the set goals of the Company.
