Project Oversight: Supervise and direct construction projects related to shore protection, erosion control, and road construction from conception to completion.
Cost Estimation: Review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs accurately.
Compliance Monitoring: Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Resource Coordination: Coordinate and direct construction workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Materials Selection: Select appropriate tools, materials, and equipment for each project.
Inventory Management: Track inventory and manage resources efficiently.
Reporting: Prepare internal and external reports regarding job status, progress, and challenges.
Risk Management: Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks associated with construction activities.
Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality construction standards and proper construction techniques.
Requirements and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management.
Experience:
Proven working experience in construction management, specifically in shore protection, erosion control, and road construction.
Technical Knowledge:
Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
Materials Expertise:
Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
Communication:
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Problem-Solving: Ability to plan ahead, prevent problems, and resolve emerging issues.
Contract Management: Experience negotiating terms, drafting contracts, and obtaining permits and licenses.
