My name is Joy Loveth Okwudegbe and I am a Registered Nurse with over 4 years of experience providing high-quality care in emergency, medical, surgical, psychiatric, and school health settings. I trained at the School of Nursing, Eku, and I’m currently completing my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Ahmadu Bello University.

Over the years, I have worked in hospital units such as emergency care, general medical and surgical wards, and mental health units, where I gained hands-on experience in patient assessment, medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, vital signs monitoring, and managing both stable and critically ill patients. I also have experience supporting patients with mental health disorders such as depression, severe anxiety, and mania, and I’ve worked within multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, person-centred care.

In addition to hospital work, I have served as a school nurse, providing first aid, health education, routine screenings, and wellness support for students and staff. I have also participated in medical outreaches and community programs, which strengthened my communication skills and patient education abilities.

My strengths include strong clinical judgment, effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. I’m detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety, infection control, and ethical nursing practice.

Right now, I’m seeking a nursing position where I can contribute my skills, grow professionally, and deliver excellent patient care while supporting the goals of the organization. I'm also interested in volunteering for organizations transitioning into the Telehealth pathway.
