Our client, an NGO is currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager.Job Title: Finance ManagerLocation: Lagos, Nigeria (Hybrid)Employment Type: Full-TimeReports To: Executive DirectorJob OverviewThe Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the NGO, ensuring effective financial planning, reporting, and compliance. You will play a critical role in supporting our leadership team by providing financial insights, managing donor funding, and ensuring the smooth execution of all financial processes. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic, small NGO where your contributions will have a direct impact on our programs andoperations.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Financial Planning & Budgeting: Prepare and manage the annual organizational budget,including program-specific budgets. Monitor cash flow and provide financial projections to support decision-making.

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Board, management, and donors. Conduct variance analysis and offer recommendations based on insights. 

  • Accounting & Bookkeeping: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including managing the general ledger, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and handlingpayroll.

  • Grant & Donor Management: Ensure compliance with donor requirements by preparinggrant budgets, tracking expenses, and submitting accurate financial reports.

  • Compliance & Audit Management: Ensure compliance with local laws, tax filings, and donor agreements. Prepare for and manage external audits.

  • Internal Controls: Maintain and improve financial policies and procedures, ensuring thesafeguarding of organizational assets and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Director and department heads to support financial decision-making and resource allocation.

  • Training & Capacity Building: Provide financial management support and training toprogram staff to enhance their understanding of budgeting, compliance, and financialmanagement.


Qualifications & Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Master’s or professionalcertification such as ACA or ACCA is a plus).

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the NGO sector.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience managing grants and working with donor funding.

  • Familiarity with local tax laws, labor regulations, and financial compliance.

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a small team.
