JOB SUMMARY
CARE is seeking a Business Development Assistant to support country office Business Development processes. The BD Assistant will support the organization’s business efforts in Nigeria through a mix of regular and on-demand tasks and CARE's program, ensuring that it aligns with both the organization’s global standards and the specific requirements of the donor.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Job Responsibility #1: Technical
- Support in preparing & submitting business proposals, reports and presentations during review meetings.
- Support the update & development of policies, procedures, and templates for the business development team.
- Assist in the development of templates for budgets, and budget justifications that meet the requirements of funding agencies & stakeholders.
- Support with stakeholder communications on new business matters, subcontracts and other agreements.
- Support Project Managers and provide documentation plans and reports.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project delivery.
- Identify & facilitate resolution of project issues through root cause analysis to fix underlying challenges
- Contribute to effective program reporting, monitoring and evaluation systems for both internal and external use in coordination with the other program staff.
- Support resource mobilization efforts through contribution to literature research and budget preparation for proposal writing and related engagement.
- Coordinate weekly and monthly projects reports and meetings.
- Coordinate the dissemination of project information among the project team, schedule and support donor, stakeholders, project meetings.
- Drafting, editing, and proofreading of technical materials, promotional materials and appropriate reports of project status, activities, and results.
- Coordinate the planning of meetings, workshops, training sessions and ensure that all logistics arrangements are in place while ensuring that meeting notes are taken and disseminated timely to all participants.
Job Responsibility #2: Proposal Development and Partnership
- Support research for new call for proposals
- Support situation analysis and findings for proposal development
- Carry out KII and field research for development of new proposals
- Generate and update stakeholder database to maintain relationship
- Periodic engagement with donor on project status and activities
- Manage donor list and mapping of new partners and donors.
- Effectively conduct research/literature review in thematic priority areas and support in drafting written reports/proposal contents for internal and external use based on guidelines determined jointly by the supervisor.
- Support in development of concept notes, situation analysis for proposals, checklist for donor submission on proposals and drafting proposal timelines while engaging colleagues for timely submission
Job Responsibility #3: Communication, Advocacy and Influencing
- Support development of visibility materials for advocacy and influencing
- Generate ideas and innovations for celebration of specific international days
Resource Mobilization:
- Contribute to CARE’s resource mobilization efforts.
- Support all other initiative as assigned
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Required:
- Excellent presentation, communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- A minimum of 2 years proven and relevant experience in fundraising and donor facing.
- Experience in Corporate fundraising and relationship management is desired.
- Proven experience in stewardship and developing new business.
- Confident networker with the ability to forge strong working relationships.
- Flexibility and adaptability, takes initiative, a willingness learn and to take on additional duties with a growth mindset.
- Demonstrated skills building and maintaining relationships with project stakeholders, local partners, and local organizations.
- Fluency in English and strong oral and written communication skills; excellent demonstrated inter-cultural, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are required.
- Demonstrated commitment to PSHEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Harassment, and Abuse).
