JOB OVERVIEW




  • The Finance Reporting Officer is responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with the preparation of financial reports for the company, including corporate accounting and earnings reports.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Preparation of monthly business unit and consolidated financial statements.

  • Prepare detailed internal financial reports, including researching and explaining significant variances by working closely with various departments and management.

  • Assesses the needs of the business, prioritize projects and drive new reporting requirements to completion.

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements monthly, including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.

  • Perform quality assurance and deliver recurring reports accurately and on-time.

  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, formatting, analyzing, and explaining information.

  • Interpret and analyze financial information posted to general ledger accounts.

  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

  • Play a crucial role in implementing new software for department improvement and efficiency.

  • Investigate and report to the Manager any inconsistencies or improprieties.

  • Research balance sheet items and income/expense fluctuations utilizing various systems and information sources.

  • Liase with external auditors for prompt and timely audit.

  • Perform other related duties as directed by the CFO



REQUIREMENTS




  • 5 years professional experience in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Economics or any related field.

  • Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Economics or any related field

  • Knowledge of accounting processes

  • Proficiency in using popular accounting software

  • Ability to ensure accounting policies and procedures are followed

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Strong ethical principles and ability to manage confidential and sensitive financial information

  • Professional qualification ICAN or CFA would be an added advantage

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Excellence in service delivery, focus on quality and attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines on a consistent basis and work under pressure
