Position Summary
- An outpatient nurse observes patients on a regular basis and charts symptoms and progress. It is the responsibility of an outpatient nurse to report changes and concerns to, Medical directors, Clinic Managers, physicians and specialists.
Job Description
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Responsible for drawing blood, checking vital signs, monitoring blood pressure, temperature and pulse, and ensure that IV lines are maintained
- Assist medical officers and specialists during, examinations and treatments, vaccinations.
- Assist medical officers and specialists in preparing patients for medical procedures such as minor surgeries, and diagnostic tests. and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available
- Responsible for administering medications as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage and compliance with treatment regimens and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Closely monitor patients' progress and document their observations, treatments, and any changes in health status for accurate record-keeping.
- Educating patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques to promote overall well-being
- Engage in telephone triage, providing advice and guidance to patients who seek medical assistance over the phone.
- Perform wound care, including cleaning and dressing changes, for patients with injuries or surgical wounds.
- Ensuring the functionality of ward and associated facilities daily
- Ensuring documentation of post operative note
- Providing emotional support to patients and relatives.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality
- To undertake ward rounds, make an entry in the patient’s notes as appropriate or any other patient examinations, communication or procedures.
- Adhere strictly to the organization’s ethical standards, medical protocols, SOPs, and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Other duties as assigned by MD Clinical and Administration, Medical Director or Board of Directors
Qualification, Skill, Knowledge and Abilities
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Must have 0-2 years of industry/clinical experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current practicing license.
- Excellent clinical skills with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
- Comfortable using basic technology including laptops and tablet devices
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
