Job Description
The Health Associate role is a critical position that ensures the implementation of day-to-day management of the health component. In meeting this responsibility, the Health Associate will be accountable for the monitoring of the health project inputs and outputs, and ensuring targets are achieved. S/he will undertake appropriate measures to strengthen the health system to offer quality health Implementation. This includes assessing the physical facilities where applicable, taking appropriate steps in integrity and accountability of CASFOD's programs, and ensuring compliance with organization and donor requirements. This role will support all CASFOD health activities, collaborating with team members across different states to achieve Health transparency and accountability.
Health Associate
The following defines the roles and responsibilities of the Health Associate.
- Improve CASFOD’s prevention and response to infectious disease outbreaks.
- Support referral and ensure implementation of a focused two-way referral system.
- Promote positive behavioral change and patient education.
- Support training of HWs and referral paramedics on infection prevention and control (IPC) for quality of care.
- Support health facilities with information, education, and communication (IEC) materials.
- Monitor implementations, document findings, provide feedback to implementers, and share monitoring reports with a supervisor.
- Prepare activity and monthly reports and share them with the supervisor.
- Attending the cluster meeting and reporting to the supervisor.
- Coordinate with Nutrition and MEAL Staff.
- Document and share success stories.
- Any other related task assigned by the supervisor.

Health Associate Requirements, Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in public health or medical Certifications
- At least 2 years of experience in health programs and community intervention preferably in areas of health system strengthening to offer primary and reproductive health care
- Good interpersonal and facilitation skills with the ability to conduct and facilitate training
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English.
- Has the ability to clarify issues in group meetings or any discussion session among staff and with visitors
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Goods nurture and mentor staff, promote teamwork, set a high standard for quality work, and ensure that the job is done.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Has demonstrated leadership quality and is a good team player with flexibility
- Analytic and report writing in English
- Willing to work with disadvantaged/vulnerable people under stress and in a difficult situation.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure in a rapidly changing context.
- Conceptual Skill: the ability to see the entire picture of the whole organization and the inter-relationships among its parts.
Locations: Successful Candidates will be stationed in the Maiduguri office as specified in the recruitment process.
