- We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Accountant to manage the financial operations of our cloud computing business.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of subscription-based revenue models, cost management, and financial compliance.
- This role will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of our financial data, optimizing operational costs, and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Maintain and oversee general ledger accounts.
- Prepare accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Revenue Management:
- Track and manage subscription-based and pay-as-you-go revenue streams.
- Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards such as IFRS 15 or ASC 606.
- Generate detailed reports on deferred revenue and recurring billing.
Cost Analysis:
- Monitor and allocate costs related to infrastructure, cloud services, and operational expenses.
- Develop strategies to optimize costs and improve profitability.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.
- Stay updated on tax laws impacting cloud computing businesses.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance against budgets and recommend corrective actions.
Audit and Reporting:
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
- Provide financial data and insights to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is required.
- Experience:
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a technology, SaaS, or cloud computing company.
- Strong understanding of subscription-based and recurring revenue models.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks).
- Experience with financial analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and data analytics.
