About Our Client:
Our Client is a prominent Recycling Company based in Nigeria. They specialize in transforming waste tyres into eco-friendly, reusable materials such as rubber mats, rubber tiles, and other molded products that can be used in homes, offices, playgrounds, and gyms. Currently, we are developing a 3,600 Tonne per annum rubber recycling facility in Apata, Ibadan. The raw materials are sourced from our partners in Lagos.
Overview of the Role:
The Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the company's sales initiatives by developing and implementing effective strategies, managing a high-performance sales team, and achieving revenue targets. This position demands a results-oriented leader with exceptional analytical, strategic, and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships and optimise sales operations. The Sales Manager is tasked with meeting revenue goals, expanding customer acquisition, and exceeding sales quotas. They must possess a deep understanding of the target market, foster high-performing sales teams, craft detailed sales plans, and lead efforts to deliver accurate revenue forecasts while addressing customer needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed company revenue targets.
- Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Create detailed sales plans that include resource allocation, sales channels, and promotional activities.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, motivate, and manage the performance of the sales team to achieve organizational goals.
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to enhance team skills, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
- Set clear individual and team performance objectives and ensure accountability through regular performance reviews.
Market Analysis and Customer Relationship Management:
- Conduct in-depth market research to understand customer needs and preferences.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
- Implement customer relationship management (CRM) tools to track interactions and improve service delivery.
Reporting and Budget Management:
- Prepare accurate and timely sales forecasts, reports, and performance analyses for management review.
- Develop and manage the sales department’s budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maximizing returns.
- Monitor sales expenses and recommend areas for financial optimization.
Sales Process Optimization:
- Evaluate and enhance the efficiency of the sales process to improve conversion rates and customer experience.
- Standardize sales procedures and implement best practices across the team.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline operations and remove bottlenecks.
Target Achievement and Performance Monitoring:
- Set and communicate sales targets to the team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Monitor sales team performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Recognize and reward high-performing team members to foster motivation and productivity.
Requirements:
- Education: HND/B.Sc. Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Management, Business Administration, or any related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of working experience, with at least 3 years in a senior sales role (Regional Sales Manager, Area Sales Manager, or similar).
- Sales Experience: Proven track record of success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate, present, and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Sales Process Expertise: Demonstrated ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong business sense and expertise in the industry.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to mentor, coach, and manage high-performance sales teams.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to measure and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs and ROI).
- Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Organizational Skills: Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.

Reporting:
The Sales Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will provide regular updates on sales performance, team progress, and market trends.
