Job Summary
- Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to oversee multiple engineering projects and manage project engineering teams.
- The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with strong leadership skills, extensive technical knowledge, and the ability to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
- This role will ensure project objectives are met while maintaining compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Develop project strategies, set goals, and define key performance indicators (KPIs) for project success.
- Supervise and mentor a team of Project Engineers, ensuring effective resource allocation and performance management.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability within the project team.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring project alignment with expectations.
- Represent the Company at client meetings, industry events, and stakeholder briefings.
- Oversee project budgets, manage financial risks, and ensure cost-effective resource utilization.
- Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
- Manage project issues effectively, facilitating timely resolutions to maintain project momentum.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable codes, industry best practices, and company policies.
- Implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of project deliverables.
- Provide required technical leadership on all engineering and field operations
- Oversee technical reviews and ensure engineering solutions meet project and client requirements.
- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and third-party consultants.
- Review contracts, ensure compliance with terms, and oversee procurement processes.
- Develop project performance frameworks, track key metrics, and report regularly to senior management.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and improve future project execution.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by senior management to support the organization’s strategic goals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, or other related field)
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a project management role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple complex projects in the oil and gas sector.
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Experience in well intervention operations and strong knowledge of seismic data acquisition and processing techniques
- Proficient in design and project management software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Engineering) is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations and industry best practices.
Work Location / Conditions:
- Office environment with frequent field/site visits.
- May require extended working hours to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure in dynamic project environments.
