Job Summary




  • Responsible for strategizing and negotiating with suppliers and vendors in order to acquire the most cost-effective deals and to reduce procurement expenses



Responsibilities




  • Identify and implement sourcing strategies that aid the achievement of the company’s goals

  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure good and advantageous terms

  • Control the procurement budget and promote a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in supervising repairs

  • Manage vendors' database for optimization

  • Manage inventory and maintain agreed stock level to ensure availability of resources when required

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and deadlines with vendors and suppliers to ensure company's interest is protected

  • Conduct market surveys from time to time to ensure the company gets the best prices for goods and services

  • Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing. Process purchase orders and ensure appropriate approvals before goods are purchased

  • Ensure high quality of goods purchased and received

  • Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures

  • Ensure all procurements are within the budget; maintain procurement budget

  • Work closely with the legal department to ensure contract terms are favourable to the company

  • Process vendor payments accurately and on time

  • Plan, manage, and evaluate logistics operations, liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies, and customers

  • Supervise teams of staff, including cleaners, maintenance, and security, ensuring that basic facilities needs, such as water and electricity, are available

  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.



Qualifications




  • BSc / H.N.D in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related discipline

  • Professional certification from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Management (CIPS) or any other relevant professional body is an added advantage

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience.
