Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Contract length: 3 years
Main Role:
Under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer and other partner organizations, the Program Coordinator will will oversee the day-to-day management and coordination of the project. This role involves ensuring the successful implementation of project activities, fostering partnerships and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning and Coordination
- Develop detailed work plans and ensure project activities are executed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate and supervise field activities to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Ensure the meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in project planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, community-based organizations, and advocacy groups.
- Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders to promote disability rights and inclusion in development policies and programs.
- Represent the project in meetings, workshops, and conferences.
- Organize and deliver training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns for stakeholders on disability rights and inclusive practices.
- Develop tools and resources to support capacity-building efforts.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to track program progress and ensure the achievement of key performance indicators.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports, including narratives and financial updates, to management and donors.
- Identify challenges, risks, and opportunities, and propose strategies for improvement.
Advocacy and Awareness
- Support the implementation of advocacy strategies to influence policies and practices promoting disability rights.
- Organize events, campaigns, and community outreach activities to raise awareness about disability inclusion.
- Manage program resources effectively, ensuring adherence to organizational and donor guidelines.
Educational qualifications:
- Master’s Degree Social Work, Political Science, Gender and Development, or related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in project planning, supervisory, capacity building, advocacy and implementation in national/international NGOs/EU bodies/Government.
- Prior working experience within national and or international organizations and experience of working with donor-funded projects is an added advantage.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups.
- Experience with donor-funded projects and compliance requirements.

Work Environment:
- Traditional Office hours of 9 am – 5 pm on weekdays
